Why Book a Siargao Joiners Tour Package

Siargao tour package for joiners

Looking to book a Siargao joiners tour package?

Well, you came to the right place. offers affordable joiners tour packages for some of Surigao Del Norte’s most popular destinations namely, Sohoton Cove, Naked Island, Guyam, Island, and Daku Island, as well as land tour packages going to Sugba Lagoon and Magpupungko. In addition, we also offer tours to Corregidor and Mam-on Island.

What is a joiners tour anyway?

Simply put, a joiner is a person who joins a group of people who are doing the same activities together. In our own case, it’s going on a tour with people from different parts of the country, sometimes even from other countries. (Yes, they’re open to trying Filipino food, beach-style, which is what we serve during the tour, by the way. :D) Families, friends, office-mates…even people who just met in the island. You’re all welcome to join.

Below are some of the benefits of getting a Siargao joiners tour package, in case you’re wondering what you’re booking! 🙂

Siargao Joiners Tour Package: The Pros

Save on travel costs.  Anything that’s exclusive or private to your group will always cost you a premium. The minimum number of guests to convert into a private tour is 8. Below that, you’ll have to shoulder the cost of the remaining number of guests. With a joiners tour, you only pay for the persons who are actually joining or present during the tour. Pooling resources with other guests who have the same schedule as yours is a great leverage to reduce your travel costs.

You save energy planning for destinations. Your visit to Siargao is supposed to be a vacation, not a job or a list of tasks to be checked out.  Chill. Enjoy the Siargao vibe. Let us worry about the food, the transportation, and the whole tour thing while you enjoy the beach, the food, and the whole experience.

Of course, for those who really want to follow their own itinerary, we can create custom Siargao tour packages at reasonable rates.

You get to meet (and be friends for real) with fellow travelers. The point of traveling is adventure. And adventure is not just about the mountains you climb, the oceans or continents you cross, or the strange food you eat. It’s also about breaking inner barriers, a sort of inertia that you usually encounter in a familiar territory. For example: making new friends. Sometimes it’s easier to make new friends when you’re traveling than when you’re all confined in a closed space such as an office. New friendships can be instantly forged during adventure and sometimes it can last. Backpackers, for example, are no strangers to meeting new friends.

Siargao Joiners Tour Package: The Cons

Admittedly, a Siargao joiners tour isn’t for everyone and we would normally discourage people to join if sitting with strangers on the boat or sharing lunch is an issue for them. Not everyone is comfortable with that situation, and to some it could be a reason why they won’t enjoy the tour.

Likewise, a joiners tour is already pre-arranged with fixed destinations, so you won’t be able to explore other tourist spots you might have planned to visit. If your own itinerary is important to your group, we would not recommend getting a Siargao joiners tour package.

We all respect that so instead of joining, we would recommend getting a custom or private tour package that is exclusive only to your group.

Whatever Siargao tour package you’re booking, we hope you enjoy it.

Till next post! 🙂

Travelling to Siargao: When is the Best Time to Travel to Siargao?

a beautiful July weather in Siargao

Thinking of travelling to Siargao? Well, it might help to know when the best time of the year to do so, especially if you are looking to avail of our Siargao Joiners Tour Package.

Climate in Siargao may not be the coldest in the country but it has one of the longest and most pronounced maximum rainfall period, which usually starts from November to December, and could further extend to February. However, rains could even start to become frequent in October such as last year (2018).

And it’s not just rains. Typhoons start coming in, too.

This month, January 2019, we really had lots of cancellations on our Siargao Tour Packages, especially Sohoton+Tri-Island tour. (Our refund policy, however, ensures that guests get refunded 100% if their tour is cancelled due to weather.)

Quite understandably, Sohoton is far from our drop off point, about 2 hours boat ride from General Luna. Siargao’s Coast Guard has to ensure that no boats are allowed to go when the weather is bad, because we’ll be in the open ocean for 2 hours.

Big waves and strong current will not be safe for travelers at all.

Of course, some of us avail of airline promos and oftentimes, those promotions are targeted towards the slow months of the airline, too. When the weather forecast is bad, the airlines also have to cancel their flights. That would cause a lot of stress on your part as well because all your other planned schedules now have to move. Even your filed vacation leave now needs to be adjusted.

The best months to visit Siargao is between March to September. Of course, there could be rains as well but it’s not as frequent as between November to January. These were the months when we had the fewest tour package cancellations due to bad bad weather.

September is also the month of annual surfing competition and the waves are quite beautiful, even at Jacking Horse which is the surfing area for beginners.

So next time you see an online ad or promo for a Siargao tour, you might wanna check if it falls during the wet months.

You’re welcome! 😀

A Couple of Things You Can Learn While in Siargao

things you can learn in Siargao

People come to Siargao not just for vacation but also to experience what the island has to offer: beautiful islets, wonderful waters, and adventure among others. Others simply to tick it off from their bucket list.

Those are the primary motivations but for some people, Siargao made them realize more than just that. Proof? A lot of city dwellers have moved to the island for good.

We think Siargao is more than just a vacation place. Below are some things vacationers might have realized on their sojourn.

You Can Slow Things Down

When asked how they would describe Siargao, most would normally say “surfing”. That’s what the island became known for in the first place. Others, however, primarily feel its chill vibe is its defining characteristic.

They come to Siargao to chill out and forget about life in the busy city. Here, you can can sit and watch the sunset or people surfing with the sunrise in the background, without any expectation on how the day would end.

Here you can find some restaurants with signs that say “If you’re in a hurry, please eat somewhere else” or something to that effect. More or less, it just means “don’t rush things.” Chill.

That may sound a bit off or rude to a city dweller who is often in a rush — to catch the train or bus, or be on time in the office — but it just make sense if you try to adapt to the life on the island.

You can’t force locals your ways, and if you can’t, you are forced to let go of control. You learn to throw worries and anxieties out of the window, and begin to learn to savor and appreciate every moment you are on the island.

Letting Go of Expectations

Expectations are happiness killers. When you expect things and they don’t go your way, you get frustrated.

Siargao promises nothing, except its beautiful waters and warm people.

Prevalently, it’s a backpackers’ place where you can’t always expect 5-star hotel accommodations or high-end resorts. If you can find them and you’re willing to pay, then good for you.

A lot of the accommodations you’ll find, however, are hostels and nipa-styled shared spaces without air-conditioning units but visitors find them good enough. They don’t pay the cost of a 5-star accommodation, in any case.

You Can Live in the Moment

Just like any other vacation place, you cannot enjoy Siargao if you are always looking forward to the next thing that you are going to do. If you are always attending to whatever is preoccupying your mind.

When you are in a place but are just busy looking at your phone, you are not really there. If you seem to be watching the ocean but is actually thinking of something else, you are not really there.

You are virtually somewhere. You are physically present but mentally absent. You are not in the moment.

Those fleeting yet beautiful moments just passed by without you noticing them.

Tip: During tours, have your camera or phone with you but put it away after, and enjoy the rest of the moment.

Siargao Tour Packages: 3 Reasons Why it Pays to Book Your Tour Early

Siargao text written on the sand

Siargao Tour Packages  make planning your trip to Siargao so much easier.

Some of our previous guests, however, took planning for granted and suddenly contacted us to join in one of our tours…at the last minute.

While we try our best to accommodate and help them, it still causes stress on their part when they realize that the tours start early, or they thought they can combine whichever destination they want (which doesn’t work that way). Or they realize that they need a much much cheaper tour.

Here are some other reasons why it pays to book tour Siargao tour package before your flight to Siargao.

Avoid Stress on Your Budget

A family of four once called us at past 8 am asking if they can join our Sohoton + Tri-Island Tour. The problem is that our group — and most of the group tours in Siargao — already leave for Sohoton at 7 am because the boat ride is going to be at least 2 hours.

They didn’t want to pay for a private tour, so they had to wait the next day for our next group tour. I hope they were able to find a way to join a tour at 8am. Otherwise, they had wasted a day which they could have spent touring around Siargao.

Although our Siargao tour packages are convenient, we still recommend booking your tour early to avoid the kind of stress the family of 4 had, especially if you don’t have the budget to get a private tour.

Avoid Complicated Planning

Our Siargao tour packages are already planned out to maximize your day. We have arranged it in such as way that you’ll save more time and money.

Most important, you’ll be able to focus more on enjoying your tour, rather than spending on hours of complicated planning.

For example, some guests would ask if they can have Sugba Lagoon and Sohoton in one day. Our straightforward answer is no.

It’s just not ideal, it’s more expensive, and the time it takes to transfer between these destinations will eat up the time you would rather enjoy spending on the nearby spots.

Although, our Siargao tour packages are available every day, we still need at least one day to ensure that we have planned for the number of guests we accommodate because we also account for transportation and food for everyone.

No Need to Carry Cash Around

As you have paid for your tour in advance, you don’t need to worry about running out of cash in the island, especially that ATM machines are not always available.

You carry around less valuables while you are out there surfing or swimming. You’ll have less stress worrying if your cash is still there. This is not to scare you out but the island, unlike before, now has so many visitors so it pays to be extra careful.

Siargao Island Hopping: Some Tips to Avoid Hassle

how to avoid travel failure

Siargao Island Hopping is supposed to be exciting and fun…as what most of us plan…or want it to be.

However, based on experience and on our previous interactions with our guests, that isn’t always the case.

In fact, it’s happened to anyone of us in any other trip, be it local or abroad. Hassle, or “hasul” in our local dialect, means an irritating inconvenience and it just pops out of nowhere to…well, destroy your day.

Flights get delayed and that’s so out of our control.

In other cases, traffic jam on the way going to the airport arrests us from getting on board our flight on time.

Or our tour guide forgets to prepare that local delicacy that we had ordered a few days before we went on island hopping.

But more or less, these things are outside our control. It’s a hit and miss kind of thing: sometimes the trip is perfect, other times we encounter problems.

Nonetheless, you can still do your best and focus on things that you can control to avoid the most common mistakes that can end up very costly for your Siargao island hopping.

The “Secret Island” in Siargao

Calendar and set a reminder for your trip.

A reminder for a vacation? Who needs that?!

In one of my recent flights going back home to Siargao, there was a middle-aged couple who thought their flight was on that day, when in fact, it was yesterday. I felt sorry for them as they looked stunned, realizing that the guard on the entrance was right in pointing it out.

A mistake like the one above is so basic that it irritates you and totally destroys your day when it happens. Not to mention that it is costly because now you have to book another flight to get that vacation you’ve been looking forward to for months.

Now it might be a little overkill, but forgetting stuff happens to the best of us. If I may suggest, put it on your calendar, and set an alarm 2 days before (“advance mag-isip’).

Book an accommodation as early as possible.

Siargao accommodations nowadays sell like hotcakes. And when you book an accommodation just a week before your trip, you end up like waiting to get a Grab during rush hour. It’s frustrating and it’s costly.

You’ll have to compromise things such as the comfort of staying in a place near the center of Siargao, getting a good place for a good price, or worse (and this has happened to some guests) cancelling your trip just because there are no more accommodations.

By the way, if you need a basic place to stay, hit us up on Airbnb. We got 4 rooms, 10 beds listed there as homestays. It’s cheap but of course, it’s not 5 stars.

Book your Siargao Island Hopping packages as early as possible.

More importantly, do your research on what tours are being offered. There are pre-arranged tour packages that already include everything you need. You simply just have to show up on the day of the tour.

If you want to get your own planned destinations – and we know some of these are not the usual tourist spots – then that would entail getting a private tour of Siargao, which may cost a bit higher than the pre-packaged island hopping tours.

Siargao Island Hopping may not be best thing for seniors.

Tour destinations like Sohoton is quite a bit of a stretch in terms of boat ride – 2 hours, that is. The “series of adventure” there is – shall we say – great for young people, but it might be a bit of a challenge for older people.

Make sure that you aware of these things so that you avoid inconvenience for your older family members.

So…next time you go on island hopping or visit us in Siargao, make sure you have the above list ticked off. 🙂
